Ishouldpracticeprofessionalismsuchasshowinggoodleadershipskillsformystudents.Myfavouritelinewouldbe,“Bejust,thatisclosertofaith”.Inmyopinion,beinganauthoritarianwillonlycreateadistancebetweenateacherandastudent.Asateacher,Ishouldbeabletoattendtomystudents’personalandacademicneedswheneverneeded.Inaddition,Iwilltrytocreateacomfortablelearningenvironmentbasedonrespectinsteadoffear.Inordertoachievethat,Imustbuildstrongrapportwithmystudentssothatallofuscanlearninaconduciveandfunenvironment.Likewise,communicationisapparentlyanimportantkeytoaneffectiveteachingandlearningprocessintheacademicsetting.
MystudentsaremymainpriorityandIamawarethateachofthemhasdifferentlevelofproficiencyinEnglishlanguage.Ibelievethatbycreatingastudent-centredlearning,mystudentswillbeabletotakechargeoftheirownlearningwithlittleassistancefromtheteacher.Thiswillinculcateasenseofresponsibilityinthemintermsofachievingtheirlearninggoal.Asateacher,oneofmyroleswouldbetocoachandfacilitatethemthroughoutthelearningprocessbyprovidinginformationandgivingusefulguidelinesinorderforthemtoachievetheirlearningtarget.
Bybeingmoreresourceful,Iwillbeabletoachieveself-satisfactionandsuccessinteaching.Asateacher,IamopentonewideasandsuggestionsthereforeIwouldliketobemoreinvolvedineducationalactivities,attendeducationaltalksandparticipateinforumsorconferencestofurtherexpandmyknowledge.Moreover,beingup-to-datewiththelatestinformation,keepingintouchwithglobalissuesandgettingmyhandsonthelatesttechnologyaresomeofthewaysformetoimprovemyself.Inmyview,Icouldalsoincorporatethemintomyclassroompracticebecauseasforme,knowledge-wise,teachersshouldbeatleasttwoorthreestepsaheadoftheirstudents.ThereforeIhavetobewell-preparedforeverylessonbyplanningmytimeandmaterialsefficientlytoensurethatasuccessfullessontakesplace.IalsofeelthatitiswisetoreflectoneverylessonthathasbeenconductedsothatIcanidentifythestrengthsandrectifytheweaknesses.
Lastbutnotleast,mystudentsshouldbeencouragedtoexploreeveryopportunitytoutilisetheauthenticresourcesaroundtheirenvironment.Inordertoachievethis,Iwouldvarymyteachingstyleswhileatthesametimeencouragingcriticalthinkingskillsamongmystudents.Inmypersonalpointofview,ateachershoulddaretobedifferent.Ithinkthatlearningshouldnotonlybelimitedwithinthefourwalls.Iwilltrytomakemylessonsmorerelevantandappropriatetomystudentssothattheycanre
