Overthepastcentury,thepolehasbeenmigratingatanaveragespeedofabout10kilometersperyear,saysLarryNewitt,headofGeomagneticLaboratoryatNaturalResourcesCanadainOttawa.Sincethe1970s,thisspeedhasincreasedtoabout50kilometersperyear.
