  Thepeoplewhoaretobehappyfixtheirattentionontheconveniences(方便)ofthings,thepleasantpartsofconversation,thewell-prepareddishes,thegoodnessofthewines,thefineweather.Theyenjoyallthecheerful(愉快的)things.Thosewhoaretobeunhappythinkandspeakonlyofcontrary(相反的)things.Therefore,theyarecontinuallydiscontented(不满意的).Bytheirremarks,theysourthepleasuresofsociety,offend(冒犯)manypeople,andmakethemselvesdisagreeableeverywhere.Ifthisturnofmindwasfoundedinnature,suchunhappypersonswouldbethemoretobepitied.Thetendency(倾向)tocriticizeandbedisgusted(使人厌恶)isperhapstakenuporiginallybyimitation(模仿).Itgrowsintoahabit,unknowntoitspossessors(占有).Thehabitmaybestrong,butitmaybecuredwhenthosewhohaveitareconvincedofitshadeffectsontheirinterestsandtastes.Ihopethislittlewarningmaybeofservicetothem,andhelpthemchangethishabit.
