CraigMullinswasbornin1964inCaliforniaandmovedattheageofthreetoOhio.Whenhewas18,hewentbacktoCalifornia,whereforseveralyearshelivedintheproximityofLosAngeles.HewenttoPitzerCollegeinClaremont,California,fortwoyears,andthenstudiedatArtCenterCollegeofDesigntostudyproductdesignandillustration.[2]

　　Mullins意识到数码新时代使他不受区域上的限制,因此他移居夏威夷,至今还与妻子、两个女儿及他的猫继续留在岛上.他表示力图涉及插画方面尽可能多的领域.他的作品受到JohnSingerSargent和FrankFrazetta的启发.
