　　Franklinearnedthetitleofthe“FirstAmerican”forhiseffortstounitethe13Americanstatesandtowintheirindependence.ThispartofthestorystartsinLondon.HewassenttothecitytopersuadetheBritishtotreattheAmericanstatesmorefairly.Itwasherethathebeganinteractingwithimportantpoliticalthinkersandactivistsofthetimeanddevelopinghisownpoliticalideas.
