AfterhismarriageVerneworkedasabusinessmaninParis.Howeverhewasnotverysuccessfulathisjobandspentmostofhistimewritingbooksanddoingresearchforthenextone.In1863hepublishedhisnovelFiveWeeksinaballoonandthefollowingyearhepublishedAJourneytothecentreoftheearthwhichmadehimfamous.Hisbooksbecamesopopularandearnedhimsomuchmoneythathewasabletoleavehisjobandworkfulltimeonhiswriting.
InhisLifetimeJulesVernewrotemorethan50booksandhebecamearichman.Manyofthisimaginativenovelshavebeenturnedintofilms.
