恕本人孤陋寡闻,只见过indetail,没有见过indetails.

　　The book described her sufferings in graphic detail.（那本书以图表的形式详细地描述她的苦难.）

　　He talked in great detailaboutthe curtains he's chosen forhis lounge.（他很详细地谈到他为自己的起居室选择的窗帘.）

　　类似的还有,at(great)length,in(great)surprise等,其中的名词都不需要复数形式.

　　我也难以理解为什么有些老师在教的时候说indetails是可以用的呢

　　口误吧，实际上indetails是不成立的。

　　detail是可数名词，有复数形式，就像surprise，length等，都可以加上-s，但是作为一个副词短语，表示状态，那就是不可数了，所以是indetail。
