　　我觉得resultsinreducingitscost应该是producing的补语或定语什么的,但是resultsin看起来更像个谓语动词啊

　　没错啊,producingmoreofacommodity是主语,results是谓语.一般情况下定语是放在所修饰的词之前的,如abeautifulcity.beautiful就是做定语.但如果是短语或不定式做定语或定语从句,这就要放在所修饰的词之后.这就叫后置定语.如：Theyeartocomemustbeahardyearforhim./

　　Thecomingyearmustbeahardyearforhim.

　　定语是用来限定所修饰的词的范围的.相当于汉语中“...的”像个形容词.

　　补语一般叫宾语补足语.放在宾语后面.来说明宾语怎样,或做什么.一般来讲,句子有主谓宾的话句子结构就完整.如Isawafilm.这句就把要说的内容表达清楚了.但是：Hewishedme.这句虽然结构是完整,但意思却不清楚.所以要补充意思：Hewishedmegood或Hewishedmetohelphim.

　　这里good(形容词）和tohelphim就是补语.
