　　XI'AN,Dec.7(Xinhua)--Aknife-wieldingmankilledonestudentandseriouslywoundedanotherastheysleptinauniversitydormitoryinnorthwestChinaearlyTuesday.

　　Policesaidthestabbingoccurredinthemen'sdormitoryonthecampusofXi'anUniversityofArchitectureandTechnology,inXi'an.

　　Twomalestudents,bothfirst-yearsportsmajors,werestabbedastheyweresleeping,policesaid.

　　Onediedinhospitalwhiletheother,whosufferedinjuriestoanartery(动脉)inhisleg,wassaidtobeoutofdangeraftertreatment,accordingtopoliceandhospitalsources.

　　Policesaidtheyhadarrestedtheallegedattackerandwerecontinuingtheirinvestigation.

　　Schoolauthoritiessaidtheywerecalmingpanickedstudentswhilecooperatingwiththepolice.

　　CampussecurityhasbecomeamajorissueofpublicconcernaftersixschoolattacksinChinainthethreemonthsfromMarchtoMay,leavingatleast17deadandscoresinjured（数十人受伤）,mostlyprimaryschoolorkindergartenchildren.

　　Thestringofviolenceprompted（提示）schoolsacrossthecountrytoimprovesecurity,withsecurityguards,surveillance（监视系统）systemsandassistancefromthepolice.
