LantingPavilionLocatedatthefootofLanzhouHillfourteenkilometerssouthwestofShaoxing,thispavilioniswherethemastercalligrapherWangXizhioftheEasternJinDynasty,wroteafamousessayabouthismeetingwithsomefriendsherein353.Whileinhighspirits,WangXizhiwroteanarticlecalled"ProloguetotheLantingPavilionCollection".Eminentandpraiseworthyinbothcalligraphyandliterarytalent,thisarticlebecameamasterpieceinthesetwofields.WangXizhiwascrownedasthe"sageofcalligraphers"fromthenonandthispavilioncametoprominencefromthisevent.Now,OrchidPavilionhasbeenregardedastheMeccaforcalligraphers.Theexistinggardenandbuildingswererebuiltin1548.Asmallstream,calledCurvedStream(Qushui),runsthroughthesecludedgarden,withLiushangPaviliononitsbank.Nearby,atGoosePond(Echi),thereisanotherpavilionwhichhousesastonetabletengravedwithtwoChinesecharacters:"E,Chi,"saidtobeinWangXizhi'sbrushwriting.

　　LuXun'sFormerResidenceTheresidence,atwo-storiedwoodenstructureintraditionalstyle,isfoundat208LuXunRoadinShaoxing.LuXunlivedhereuntilhewenttostudyabroad.Hereceivedrevolutionarysoldiersandyoungstudentsherefrom1910to1912whenhereturnedhometoteachinalocalschool,anditwasherethathewrotehisfirstnovel.TotheeastoftheresidenceistheThreeFlavorStudy(Sanweishuyu),aprivateschoolthatLuXunattendedduringhischildhood.
