aremacronutrientsand,forthisreasonthedeterminationofthese
elementsusingthemainlinesrequireshighdilutionofthesamples.
Anotherdifcultyisthefatcontentthatsometimescomplicatesthe
samplepreparationstep[6].
Thehigh-resolutioncontinuumsourceatomicabsorptionspec-
trometry(HR-CSAAS)usesascontinuumradiationsourceahigh-
intensityxenonshort-arclamp,whichprovidesabettersignal-to-noiseratiothanhollowcathodelampsusedinlinesource-FAAS[7].
Thisfeatureallowstheuseoflesssensitivesecondarylinestoreduce
sensitivityduringthedeterminationofmajorelementsandavoida
highdilutionofthesamples[8].Thisstrategyhasbeenusedforthe
determinationofsomeelementsinsugar-caneleaves[9]andalso
cobaltandvanadiuminundilutedcrudeoil[10].

andslurrysamplingtechniquesemployingspectrometricmethods
