NotunlikepreviousgoldrushesmanyofthosewhoweretravelingtotheYukonwereillequippedtowithstandAlaska'sharshclimateortrainedtofinditsgold.Asthedeathtollofprospectorsrose,crimeandlawlessnessofthesedesperatedreamerswasrampant.Promptingthegovernmenttorequire"standardequipment"bepurchasedbeforeembarkingtotheYukonTerritory.FollowedbythemobilizationoftheNorthwestMountieswhowerecalledintohelpbringorder.
