WorkingGermansareparticularlynotprotectedagainstattackwitha33percenthigherriskatthebeginningoftheworkingweek.Non-workersbycomparisonappeartobenomoreatriskonaMondaythananyotherday.
Astudyof11000Italiansproved8a.m.onaMondaymorningasthemoststressfultimefortheheartandbothstudiesshowedthatSundayistheleaststressfuldaywithfewestheartattacksinbothcountries.
ThefindingcouldleadtoabetterunderstandingofwhatistheimmediatecauseofheartattacksaccordingtoDrStefanWillichoftheFreeUniversity.“Weknowalotaboutlong-termriskfactorssuchassmokingandcholesterol(胆固醇)butwedon’tknowwhatactuallycausesheartattackssowecan’tgiveclearadviceonhowtopreventthem”hesaid.
