　　FormorethanfiftyyearsJuniorAchievementprogramsmetafterschool.Theybeganasagroupofbusinessclubs.Theorganizationstartedwithanumberofchildrenofagestentotwelve.

　　Butinnineteenseventy-fiveJuniorAchievementbegantoofferclassesduringschoolhours.Manymoreyoungpeoplejoinedtheorganizationonceitbegantoteachbusinessskillsaspartoftheschoolday.

　　Volunteersfromthecommunityteachaboutbusinessessuchashowtheyareorganizedandhowproductsaremadeandsold.TheyalsoteachabouttheAmericanandworldeconomiesandaboutindustryandtrade.

　　TheJuniorAchievementCompanyProgramteachesyoungpeoplehowentrepreneurshipworks.Theylearnaboutbusinessbyoperatingtheirowncompanies.

　　Thestudentsdevelopaproductandsellsharesintheircompany.Theyusethemoneytobuythematerialstheyneedtomaketheirproductwhichthentheysell.Finallytheyreturntheprofitstothepeoplewhoboughtsharesinthecompany.

　　JuniorAchievementsaystwohundredeighty-seventhousandvolunteerssupportitsprogramsaroundtheworld.IntheUnitedStatesalonetherearemorethantwenty-twothousandplacesthatholdJuniorAchievementevents.
