  新时代人才培养不仅仅要格式化的标准

  去年年初,北京大学校长周其凤在接受媒体采访时称,北大欢迎真正的怪才.“怪才是可遇不可求的.如果真有怪才,北大欢迎,但有严格的录取程序.”

  回顾北大的历史,在兼容并包的学术观和不拘一格的人才观的指引下,几乎所有精彩的部分,都与怪才和偏才有关.当年,胡适教授因为一篇满分作文,录取了罗家伦,而他的数学考了零分,其他各科成绩也不出众.但就是这位严重偏科的罗家伦后来成为一代大家,担任了清华校长.同样的事情也发生在清华.当年,钱钟书报考清华大学时,数学只有15分,但国文、英文成绩特别突出,英文还获得满分,清华也是破格录取.类似的例子在北大和清华都还有很多.北大招生办负责人认为,21世纪和全球化时代,不能再用一个世纪以前的偏才怪才标准去培养今天的学生;没有良好的学习能力和研究潜力,他们即使能够进入大学,也很难完成正常学习,更谈不上毕业后实现创新.真正的人才本来就是不合常规的,时代的变迁并不会改变这一规律,相反只会更加证明其正确.

  在21世纪全球化的时代,站在潮流最前端的,不是别人,正是那些常人眼中的怪才偏才.比尔·盖茨、乔布斯,他们醉心一处,辍学离开全世界最好的高校,却在全球化时代各自成就了一番伟大事业.人才从来都没有格式化的标准,更不需要格式化的标准.不管是拒绝偏才怪才,还是拒绝全才,每一种拒绝都是一种局限,都与“不拘一格”格格不入.
