　　When Li Meng chose to learn biological science at university，he believed that a popular major（专业，主修课程）would later find him a good job．However，things changed when he graduated； he had to spend a whole year job hunting and finally got a position as a biology teacher．

　　Biological science is among the 15college majors with high unemployment（失业）rates，from 2012to 2013，according to a list released by China's Ministry of Education on Oct 14．Some other popular majors such as marketing，animation（动画），tourism management and E-commerce are all on the list．

　　How did these majors lose their popularity？Huang Jin，secretary of the Communist Youth League committee at Guangxi University，said that many popular majors are set up in too many universities and the lead to tough competition in certain fields．Besides that，many universities open popular majors to attract students，but they could not ensure the education quality．

　　Although some students have decided not to choose these majors，experts suggest that the list could only be one reference（参考）．There is more to consider，such as personal interests and strong points．

　　What's more，the popularity of a major may change； the knowledge you've gained would not．

　　"However lower the employment rate is，you can get a good job as long as you are good enough，"said Niu Yuxi，an English major at Guilin University of Technology in Guangxi．

　　Beyond that，university is more than a perpetration for a good job．"University is not only a place for career training．We should also value the moral education，"said Yang Yuliang，president of Fudan University，at the opening ceremony of the new semester．
